Telling a story!
Well, we did it! After much discussion and editing our class came up with a winter themed composition that satisfied us all.
One thing we realized was that it is important to tell a story with your still life set ups. Even if you don't paint the entire scene, there should be a story that comes through.
For example, the composition below right would work well and the artist could simply not paint the snow shovel at all.
It still tells a good story and has some wonderful compositional elements that would make for a good painting.
Or perhaps just the abstract design created with just the shadows and a bit of the sled.
I imagine there are probably many more compositions within this one that would work. How many can you come up with?
